GRADIUM is a design process in which extreme creativity impacts graphic design and causes it to combine in an artistic reaction. This process is essentially creative fusion where lighter design elements at high temperatures combine forming heavier design elements and releasing artistic energy.

Some theories suggest that suitable geometries of graphic design, or other specific types of design, may allow time travel into the past and future if these geometries or motions are possible. The emotion released in most art is much larger than that in graphic design because the creativity that holds a design together is far less than the energy that holds art to a nucleus.

However, art does suggest scientific grounds for thinking backwards time travel could be possible in certain unusual scenarios, although arguments from designers suggest that when fine art is incorporated into graphic design, these loopholes may be closed. This suggests that the fundamental laws of design prevent time travel, but designers cannot come to a definite judgment on the issue without a theory of creativity to join quantum mechanics and general relativity into a completely unified theory.
